Junior Trackside System Engineer
About the job
Core responsibilities:
Develop, implement and test control algorithms using model based design with Matlab/Simulink.
Attend E1 events (races/tests/demos)
Attend frequent on-site support at the Seabird workshop in Sesto Calende
Support and maintain the systems of the RaceBird including sensors and their calibrations.
Draft post-race reports, perform analysis for continuous improvement and log issues.
Debug technical issues/fault finding in a high-pressure motorsport environment.
Develop and maintain trackside tools to aid in data analysis and trackside operations.
Conduct analysis of telemetry/offloaded data, drawing conclusions and guide the teams on the recommended course of action.
About you
Skills & Knowledge
Recent university graduate
Strong knowledge in Control Theory
Knowledge in common vehicle communication protocols e.g. CAN/Ethernet
Hands-on electrical knowledge
Knowledge of Motorsport software tools (McLaren Atlas & System Monitor, Bosch, Peak)
Practical Electronic fault finding
Knowledge in embedded systems
Python/C
Electric Powertrain knowledge
Personal Attributes
Strong English Language skills (Fluent, including technical language)
Willingness to travel worldwide
Works well as part of a high performance team
Eager to learn
Interest in motorsports
Driving license & car
